Grace and Truth For When You’re Seeking Jesus
I shared a little bit of the chaos that is my life last week. It would be fair to say that I’m still in the midst of it all. Which is probably why Marva’s post from last week spoke right to my heart.
Marva’s post was titled, “When You Make It Your Goal to Draw Close to God.” That’s where I’ve been lately. And in all the crazy, I’ve gotten distracted. I needed Marva’s post as a reminder.
Sometimes life distracts us from our goals and we need reminders… Click To TweetAs a reminder that being distracted is what the enemy wants.

As a reminder of the benefits of drawing near to Jesus.
As a reminder to be intentional about it.

And Now For A Giveaway!
I had the privilege of reviewing The Book of Mark by Alabaster. It’s like the perfect coffee table Bible.
Picture this, you have a friend over for coffee, it’s someone new. You aren’t real close, but you would love to tell them about Jesus… yet you just don’t know how to break the ice.

You have them sit on the couch while you go to grab some sweet tea, and they pick up the book on the top of the stack and start flipping through it. The photos are beautiful, and pretty soon they start reading the words… But this isn’t just any book, this is The Book of Matthew. It’s part of an Alabaster Bible set. When you come back, they ask about it and there’s no more awkwardness. The conversation just starts to flow.
Doesn’t that sound grand? I mean, that would never happen at my house. But I love how it happened in my head. I don’t even have a coffee table (just being honest). I have four kids, we have a checkers rug and a BeyBlade stadium. That’s just my life. But I still adore this book and think it would make a great coffee table book for someone who had one.

I have never heard of an alabaster Bible set! That’s really interesting. I’m going to have to look more into it!
They are beautiful! I don’t think I would use it for my regular Bible reading or Bible study, but I love them for coffee table books.
I also need to remind myself to not be distracted from keeping my eyes on Jesus!
I think we all do, Susan. Praying your feet are firmly planted at the foot of the cross today, and your eyes are focused, steady and sure, on the Savior of our souls.
Oh, Heather, I get it. I have all the good intentions and some days that’s all I have. I’m so thankful for God’s grace and His gentle nudging that repeatedly brings me back to Him.
Thank you for choosing my post as your feature this week and for reminding me I’m not alone. 🙂
Blessings to you as you seek God more and more.
Yes!! So thankful for His grace. Keep on keeping on, I love that we are in this together, even if our only connection is via the internet.
The struggle is so real to keep focused on our goals. To remember my why… I forget it often and get sucked into routine instead of relationship. It is where God has been refocusing me this year as well.
I think we all have to be reminded on a regular basis. Thanks for stopping in, Tiffany!
