Have you ever wondered if all this Jesus stuff really matters?

Are you still trying to figure out what it really means to be a Christian?

If you answered yes to either one of those questions, you’ve come to the right place. Our goal isn’t to force our beliefs on you, but we would love to tell you about our faith.

What does being a Christian mean?

It means we love Jesus.

We love Him for who He is as recorded in God’s Word, the Bible. Nothing more, and nothing less.

We believe that God created the world. He created it perfectly with a purpose. Then the people He created rejected Him and His plan for their lives. Not just the first people, but all of us ever since. Thus, we are all sinners and condemn ourselves to eternity apart from God.

But, God loves us so much that He sent His beloved Son, Jesus, to live a perfect, sin-free life, and die for us. Taking our punishment on Himself and making a way for us to be reunited with God.

Jesus saved us from ourselves. From our sinfulness. From our failures. From the wrath of God. He was God’s gift to us. And this gift costs us nothing.

Just like at Christmas when we all give and receive presents out of love, they aren’t something we earn. We don’t purchase them for ourselves.  Gifts are freely given. All we have to do is believe they are ours and accept them. That’s how it is with Jesus.

We have to believe that He is who God’s Word says He is, that we are what God says we are, and accept what Jesus did for us.

When we truly believe that and receive the gift of Salvation, it will change our lives.

It’s not one of those gifts that you smile at, say a polite ‘thank you,’ and then set it on a shelf to be forgotten. It’s more like a gift that rocks your world. Like if someone bought you a brand new home that came with a full-time house keeper. It changes everything! You still have the same life, the same family, the same bills, the same struggles, but there is someone there helping you through it.

And best of all?

We know that even on the days when everything seems to be falling apart. Where it seems like we have failed in every possible way. We know Jesus is there with us, and because our righteousness comes from Him and not ourselves, we are still right where we need to be with God. Jesus has us covered.

Here at Candidly Christian we share some of our struggles, a bit about our faith, and a lot about life. But everyone one of us has accepted God’s gift of salvation through Jesus. We know we could never make it on our own, and we would be happy to share our faith with you one-on-one. If you would like to talk about what it means to be a Christian, or if you just want us to pray with you or for you, you can reach us directly using the form below. It would be our honor to connect with you.
