10 Bible Verses For Insecurity
Jump to Bible Verses for Insecurity
I had to stop and look up Bible verses for insecurity this week.
I started a new job working for a prayer line, and I feel woefully inadequate. In my mind, this job was perfect for me because I love to pray. And, don’t get me wrong, the prayer part of my job is great…
However, more often than not, the callers aren’t just seeking prayer, they want Scriptures to help them deal with their problems, or they need to hear an encouraging word. Some of them are quite simply at the end of their rope and need help to keep it all together.
My very first call was a distressed caller who didn’t want to go on living. It made me realize how ill prepared I was for this undertaking. I had great training, but when it’s just you and another person on the phone it feels like a heavy weight is on your shoulders. But then I remember what the Bible said.

Bible Verses for Insecurity
For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self control.
2 Timothy 1:7
That’s just one of the Scriptures God reminded me of. Here’s another one:
The One who calls you is faithful and He will do it.
1 Thessalonians 5:24
What a great reminder that I’m not in this alone. That I’m not on the phone alone, but God is right there with me. I have prayed about this job for months, and I know God has called me to it. Therefore, I can trust He will give me the words to say. Which reminds me of another Bible verse:
“And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious about how you should defend yourself or what you should say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.”
Luke 12:11-12
Those are just a few of the Scriptures I’ve been clinging to lately. Here are a few more:

Living with Insecurity
I have struggled with insecurity my entire life. Never feeling like I measured up. However, as I mature in my walk with God, I’ve learned that it’s less about me, and more about Him.
Does that mean I confidently answer every call? No. I still get insecure. But that doesn’t stop me from answering. In fact, there’s another Scripture that keeps me going…
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Galatians 6:9
If you are feeling insecure today, I want to encourage you that God is with you, and He will help you face your giants (whatever they may be).

I can’t think of a better person to do what you are doing in your new job. So happy for you. And for those on the other end of your phone with each call. To God be the Glory! God is so amazing to give us the exact scripture at the exact moment we need it.
Amen! Thank you, Pam
What are some tangible ways besides reading scripture to get over your insecurity?
Especially if it can be so debilitating it is all you regrettably focus instead of looking at gods goodness?
It’s definetly about more than reading Scripture. For me, it’s believing what God’s Word says and replacing my insecure thoughts with His truths.
For instance, I am terrified of public speaking. I get cottonmouth, and basically self-destruct. However, I’ve started repeating 1 Thessalonians 5:24 to myself before I’m expected to speak. “The One who calls you is faithful and He will do it.” And then I check my beliefs. Do I believe God called me to do this? If so, do I trust Him to get me through it? Having that process doesn’t just recenter me, it redirects my thoughts and keeps me from panicking.
Such great truth here!
God is so good!
Thank you. This is the word in season
