Called: A Candid Moment
“Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak tenderly to her.” Hosea 2:14 (ESV)
For the past few weeks, God keeps bringing this Scripture from Hosea to my mind. Whether in a church service, driving around town, or doing laundry, I keep hearing him tell me that he is alluring and calling me to himself. He’s asking me to make a little space for him so that I can hear his tender and gentle words to me.
I think that’s his invitation to the church as well. Jesus is called the bridegroom, and the church is called his bride. Jesus loves the church and longs to spend time with her. He enjoys the presence of his bride and longs for us to enjoy his presence as well.

The past year and a half have been really rough for a lot of us. Some of us have had a harder time than others, but we all have been through some things. We’re a little beat up—a little bruised. We have wounds that have been unaddressed that need some tender care.

But we must be willing to come to him. Let’s make space to hear God’s still, soft voice and allow him to draw us to himself. Let’s meet with Jesus and allow his tender words to wash over us, heal us, and make us new.
The Lord is calling your name and inviting you to join him—how will you respond to his loving call?
