When You Feel Like You’re Failing as a Christian Woman
In this post, Mylene Dantis is sharing three truths to remember when you feel like you’re failing as a Christian woman.
It happened on a Tuesday.
I was standing in front of the sink, holding a sponge in one hand and silently crying into the dishes. My toddler had just spilled juice on the couch. Again. I had raised my voice too many times before 10 a.m. I forgot to thaw the chicken. And I hadn’t opened my Bible in three days — again.
And the whisper came: You’re not cut out for this.
Not just for motherhood, but for being a “good Christian woman.”
I didn’t feel Proverbs 31. I didn’t feel strong or kind or wise.
Instead, I felt tired. Frustrated. Guilty.
If you’ve ever had one of those days — or a whole season that felt like one long Tuesday — I want you to know something right now:
You’re not alone.
The Weight We Carry Quietly
Sometimes, I think the hardest part of being a woman of faith is the silent weight we carry. The unspoken expectations to do it all with a smile. To be gracious, prayerful, joyful, nurturing, and disciplined all while folding socks and managing budgets and calming tantrums.
And when we miss a devotion, forget a school form, or lose our temper at the wrong moment, shame creeps in.
I’ve had nights where I replay the entire day, counting every moment I “got it wrong” too sharp with my words, too distracted, too lazy, too overwhelmed. And somehow, that list always seems longer than the moments I got it right.
But here’s what I’m learning in these messy, ordinary, grace-needing days:
Jesus didn’t come for the women who had it all together. He came for the ones who didn’t.
The Lie That We’re “Not Enough”
It’s a lie I’ve believed more times than I’d like to admit that I’m not doing enough, being enough, praying enough, loving enough.
That lie steals joy. It convinces us that we’re impostors in the Kingdom as if Jesus is surprised by our imperfections. But He’s not.
I remember one particularly hard morning, I sat down with my coffee and finally cracked open the Word. Not because I was feeling holy but because I was desperate. And there it was:
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”
— 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV)
I had read that verse dozens of times before. But that day, it landed differently.
Jesus wasn’t asking me to be stronger. He was asking me to let Him meet me in my weakness.

3 Truths That Are Carrying Me Now
Over the last few months, I’ve been reminding myself of these three things. Maybe they’ll speak to your heart, too:
- God’s grace is present even when I don’t feel spiritual.
You don’t need a mountaintop moment to be in His presence. Sometimes, grace comes in the form of breath between tasks or a silent prayer while driving. - Being a Christian woman doesn’t mean being flawless.
It means being faithful showing up, turning to Jesus again and again, even if yesterday was messy. - You’re not behind. You’re being held.
Whether you’re in a season of thriving or surviving, God is still writing your story. And He’s not done yet.
Sister, You Belong Here
I used to think I had to earn my place among “real” Christian women. The kind who memorize Scripture, always look put together, and never raise their voice during math homework.
But then I met women who were beautifully broken who loved Jesus and still struggled, who laughed loudly and cried deeply, who messed up and got back up. And I realized something…
Those are my sisters.
And if you’re reading this right now, you’re one of them too.
A Quiet Encouragement for Today
You don’t have to prove yourself today.
You don’t have to strive to measure up.
You don’t need to be perfect to be fully loved.
Jesus sees your heart.
He sees your intention when your execution fails.
He sees the meals, the prayers, the quiet moments of sacrifice.
And He calls you beloved. Not because of your performance but because you are His.
So if you’re in the middle of a hard week, a hard season, or a hard question about who you are and where God is in it…
Breathe.
You’re not failing. You’re just human.
And His grace is big enough to hold all of it.
Even your Tuesdays.

What Lies Have You Been Believing?
The lies we believe make us feel like failures. Like we don’t measure up. Some lies can even make us feel worthless. And Satan loves it. He is the father of all lies, and whether he is whispering in our ear or it’s our own sinful nature tearing us down, we don’t have to take the bait.
God said, “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1). He says we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37). God created us, He called us by name, and we are His (Isaiah 43:1).
Join us in this anthology for Christian women by sharing a lie you have believed, and the truth that set you free.

Thank you for reminding me that I am not alone, and that the Lord Jesus sees me, He calls me beloved, because I am His, it’s remind me of this chorus “Jesus knows all our struggles he will guide till the day is done”
