So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view, though we once regarded Christ in this way we do so no longer. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old is gone, the new is here!

I recently attended my first 3-day virtual writers’ retreat. The weekend was so Spirit-led that it felt more like a prayer retreat. I woke up Monday morning feeling thoroughly fulfilled, totally exhausted, and already missing my new beloved sisters in Christ.
And I wondered how could I feel such fondness, such genuine love for women I barely knew.

Later that week, 2 Corinthians 5:15-17 showed me how Christian friends are different because we don’t regard one another from the worldly view of regular acquaintances. Christians are new creatures in Christ, and nothing brings this to life more than coming to Jesus together in prayer. By coming together in the Spirit, we are then connected in our Spirit.
