Will You Stand In The Gap For Us?
Have you ever had a season when you struggled to summon the strength to get out of bed each morning? Perhaps you are in such a season now. I wrote this post to encourage and help you. And I also have a favor to ask at the end.
I’ll begin with a brief story.
Last year was a rough year in my home. I’ve shared how Jesus has helped me through anxiety, forgiveness and anger. The year ended with a sudden death in the family, and by the time I was diagnosed with breast cancer in January, I was just drained. I repeatedly cried to my husband “I’m just not strong enough for this right now!”
When life gives you more than you can handle… Click To TweetI got through it, but not because I found my inner warrior.
I assembled my prayer warriors.
When Life Gives You More Than You Can Handle
The first thing I see when I walk in my Dad’s house is a plaque he bought during one of his trips to Ireland. It reads: “PRAYER. When Life Gives You More Than You Can Handle…“

Prayer has power. Not only does prayer comfort and encourage us and build a relationship with our Creator and Savior, but prayer starts a chain reaction in the spiritual realm. The Holy Spirit moves when we pray, and He can speak and act directly from my heart to yours without either of us even knowing it.
Cancer was difficult, but the prayers of my friends and family sent the Holy Spirit to minister to me so I could maintain perspective, make better decisions, and rest. I encourage you to reach out to others for prayer when life gives you more than you can handle.
Prayer Warriors Wanted
All of our Candid Gals write to point readers to Jesus. Just like any ministry, writing for Jesus is both rewarding and difficult. All writers have certain struggles in common, but Christian authors also deal with the enemy’s attempts to silence us.
“At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ…”
~ Colossians 4:3
So, Heather Hart created the Candidly Christian Prayer Team. All the Candid Gals rely on you, our readers, to cover our writing in prayer – especially when life gives us more than we can handle.

I’m both honored and humbled to assume responsibility for this ministry. Prayer team members will receive an email from me with specific prayer requests from the Candid Gals once each month. You can read more about the Candidly Christian Prayer Team and sign up here (you can also sign up the bottom of this post).
Ongoing Prayer Needs
We are always in need of prayer for a few constant needs, such as remaining faithful to our calling, continually pointing people to Jesus, and giving Him all the glory.
We also have to remain in good physical and spiritual health. The enemy strikes my peace of mind hard and fast, but I’ve learned to surrender my anxiety to Jesus. I write about my struggles with anxiety often to encourage you to surrender your worries to Jesus as well.
May is Mental Health Awareness month, so as the month comes to an end, please pray for the Candid Gals’ peace of mind and for others with mental illness.

I am just so thankful for this! Everything you say is so true, and I feel completely humbled that this ministry is covered in prayers, because that means I am covered in prayer. thank you.
I love this call to prayer!! It is the most powerful thing we can, especially when we do it together. Thanks for the reminder! 🙂
Hi Becky, I couldn’t agree more. Scripture promises that when two or more come together in His name, He is with them. Thanks so much for your comments! 🙂
Hi Jessica, Thank you for your comments. I feel exactly the same way. I also feel very comforted knowing that we are protected by the power of prayer.
Valerie, I am so thankful you are willing to head up this ministry for us. Prayer is so powerful.
I’m honored to do something so important and happy to take a little something off your plate. Thanks again for letting me help!
