Grace and Truth Link Up

What If… We Trust In His Grace & Truth?

“What if…?”

How many dreams are paralyzed by these two little words?

What if I can’t handle it,” changed my major from Elementary Education to a general BS in Human Development.

What if he finds someone else while I’m gone,” canceled a semester in Ireland.

What if they think I’m a freak,” gave birth to a pen name I used to share my testimony for almost two years.

Grace and Truth a weekly Christian link-up. This weeks feature is What if...

Countless friends I never met, fulfilling jobs I never started, beautiful places I haven’t seen… “What if…” was an invisible prison I built one fear-filled lie on top of another.

Until the Truth set me free, one verse at a time.

Have you ever asked yourself what if? Is that a struggle you deal with? We’d love to hear from you in the comments below.

Lauren loves Jesus, her husband, and caffeine. The order of these can change depending on how tired she is (who can relate?). When her two daughters, stepson, and 4 grandchildren get to be too much, she practices yoga. God graciously allows her to share her adventures, victories, and flub-ups from her laptop. And we are super excited to welcome her to our Grace & Truth Hostess team.

You can welcome her with a tweet by clicking below, and be sure to hop over to her blog and say hi as well.

  1. Thanks for featuring my post! I also used a pen name for my first year of blogging so I was interested to read your post about that. I’m glad you are able to speak out boldly under your own name!

    1. It’s a pleasure to feature you, Lesley! I loved your post so much because it made the reader shift their focus from their own fear to the God we know we can trust. I’m fascinated to hear from another blogger who used a pen name! I’ve never heard of another blogger who did that. I’d absolutely love to hear your story!

      1. When I started blogging I had never shared my writing before, I didn’t really know how it all worked, and I was generally very lacking in confidence. I would never have shared under my own name so I invented a pseudonym. Over the first year as I wrote and connected with other bloggers I realised what a great community it was and I felt more and more challenged to use my own name. God also did some pretty amazing healing work around finding my voice/ speaking out and sharing my story more generally so on the first anniversary of starting my blog I switched to using my real name. I’m glad to find it wasn’t just me who did this!

        1. Thanks so much for sharing your story! I also am comforted to know I’m not alone in this. I’m so glad God did the healing work in you, and that you allowed Him to do so. And, yes – the blogging community is so special and so amazing. Such a pleasure to meet you, Lesley and I pray that you will continue to bless readers with your words 🙂
