Grace & Truth for Your Goals
If you know me, you most likely know that I’m not big on New Years’ Resolutions. I don’t pick a word for the year. However, I do usually have some sort of dream or goal for the year ahead. It might be something like consistently sending out a devotional to my email list. Or it could be something like taking less medicine for my migraines.
You can laugh. I’ve already failed at both of them. However, the thing about goals is that just because you stumble, doesn’t mean you give up.
I might have taken more medicine last week than I wanted to (sometimes when your head hurts, you just want it to go away), and my newsletter might have went out on Tuesday instead of Monday, but that doesn’t mean those things will happen every week.
And it’s part of the reason that as soon as I read Pam’s post last Friday, I knew it was the one I wanted to share with you today.

Big Picture Goals
Pam’s post is titled, “What is the Goal?” She wrote about looking at the big picture.
I meet with a writing accountability partner each week, and at our meeting this week, we discussed our goals for the year. Without even meaning to, we both identified our big picture goal. She’s passionate about teaching people about Jesus; about living for Jesus. My overall life goal is to point to Jesus, but this year I want to help others point to Jesus too. And those big pictures, definitely affect our goals for the year.

Let’s Talk About Jesus…
We are putting together an anthology that’s all about putting our faith into words.
Sound interesting?
I love that you do big picture goals. I’m a One Word person. This year it is “Uncertainty” because…yeah, uncertainty is where we are. 🙂 I know there are things we can be certain about: God, his love, his grace, etc. I want to learn to be comfortable with the uncertainty of the things out of my control that are in God’s control.
That is so awesome, Lisa! I love that you can make your one word so applicable!
