Grace & Truth for the Hard Times
Last week was a rough one for me.
I had a doctor appointment in the city. It’s a 2 1/2 hour drive. My husband took the day off to take me, and I was really looking forward to it, but I was out of migraine medication. So my head hurt.
The appointment didn’t go as expected. They were able to give me a shot to help the migraine… but it didn’t work.
I loved spending time with my husband, as parents of four active teenagers we don’t get enough time with just the two of us. We are blessed that they love hanging out with their mom and dad, I know that’s pretty rare, but we still relish the time we get together.
That said, I spent the rest of the week recovering from that one day.
I missed deadlines.
I didn’t make any progress on the projects I have in the works.
My family ate fast food for supper.
Every time I go to the neurologist, she asks how I’m doing. I’ve had a migraine basically every day for over three years. I’m coming up on 1,450 days. She says anyone would be depressed. And I have my moments, oddly enough, it’s never on the days I’m in her office.
But last week after we left? When I spent the rest of the week in bed?
I absolutely felt the full brunt of it.
Which is why, when I came across Wemi’s post, I knew it was the one I had to feature.
Grace & Truth for the Hard Times
Wemi share’s encouragement for the hard times. Her post includes references from the Bible to let you know you aren’t alone. She gives tips for drawing on God’s strength when you need it. And Scriptures to read when times are tough.

Let’s Talk About Jesus…
We are putting together an anthology that’s all about putting our faith into words.
Sound interesting?
I’m so sorry you’ve endured headaches for that long. I can’t imagine! I’m glad you’ve found and pointed us to truths to encourage. Praying for you!
Thanks, Amy!
Heather, I’m so sorry to read about your migraines, praying for God’s continual strength and His divine healing for you. I’m glad my post encouraged you – thank you so much for featuring it here. x
Thanks for sharing God’s truth, Wemi! I love that no matter what we walk through, we never have to walk alone.
Heather that is a heavy burden to carry! Although I’m so glad we don’t have to carry the burden of our chronic conditions on our own! We have His grace & strength moment by moment…
Bless you,
Jennifer
Amen!
I’m so sorry that you have headaches every day, Heather. That’s horrible! 🙁 I pray that one day they’ll be able to find a cure to eradicate them altogether. Blessings to you as you cope with this daily. I don’t know how you do it. I admire you.
Thanks, Lisa. It is pretty horrible, and I don’t always handle it gracefully. But it is what it is. Life is hard, but God is good. Thanks for your prayers.
