Grace and Truth Link-Up

Grace and Truth and Christmas Cheer

The Christmas season is coming up fast, yet I have seen several posts around Facebook where my friends have said it doesn’t feel like Christmas. Maybe you can relate?

December just seems to go by so quickly. And it’s always jam-packed with so many things to do.  Sometimes the Christmas feeling can be hard to capture. That’s where Lauren was when she boarded the North Pole Express at her local mall.

The best way to spread Christmas cheer

While many of us love Christmas, it doesn’t always live up to our expectations. Lauren shares more, and what filled her with holiday cheer, in her post, The Best Way To Spread Christmas Cheer. As I was reading I found myself laughing and crying right along with her. I know you will too. So hop on over and check out her post on LaurenSparks.net.

  1. Thank you for sharing your heart about not being in the Christmas spirit. In S. California, we have had very warm weather up into November, which makes it difficult sometimes to get into Fall, much less Thanksgiving or Christmas! We seem to go from Summer to Christmas more and more as the years go by, which means we have to use other means to get into Christmas. Usually I turn on Handel’s Messiah as my very first Christmas music. Since it isn’t “Jingle Bells” or other popular Christmas music, it helps me get my focus where it belongs…on Jesus Himself. Which is where it belongs.

  2. I haven’t read Lisa’s book yet, but I do plan to. Nothing ever seems to go as expected, and that can be positive or difficult. For me, staying connected to God in prayer, the Word and not allowing the busy season to stop me from going to church all help.

    1. I have Lysa’s book on my to-read list as well. I’ve heard so many great things about it. Keeping our priorities and focus on Jesus are certainly a great way to keep things in perspective during the holiday season. Thanks for stopping in, JJ.

  3. It doesn’t feel like Christmas to anyone who is suffering. I try to get my mind off my own suffering by bringing joy to others who are suffering. Then suddenly feel joy.

  4. I hear ya’. For years I have also struggled to let this season “Feel Like Christmas”. Too much business and not enough time to rest in God’s word stresses me to no end. Thanks for the encouragement that it’s not just me 😉
